Sunday Long Slow Distance Run! The 18 km edition, part 1.

Hi everyone,

With exactly 5 weeks to go before the Chily 1/2 Marathon (and 8 weeks to Around the Bay and a bit less than 9 weeks to Prague), I am happy to report that training continues and continues well. I did miss a couple of long runs due to some travel and feel that I am one week behind schedule as the last 2 km today was pretty tough. Still, been there, done the distance.

Today was a lovely route up from the Beaches through to Rosedale, perhaps Toronto's prettiest neighbourhood. The weather was fine at -6 with partially cloudy sky and minimum wind. I ran with my 1/2 Marathon group as opposed to the Marathon gang as they were only doing 10km. I will be switching over, of course, upon my return from Prague.

Today a lot of great music came across the old earbuds but I had to settle for Bowie and Jagger's version of Dancin' in the Street - it was playing as I crossed the finish line.

Next run is Tuesday and I will update you all again then.

Its getting busy out there...

Hi everyone,

After a few months away from running after my fairly miserable fall performance, I want to let you know that I am back and gearing up for a good couple of months. Coming down the pipe, we have:

March 6 - Chili 1/2 Marathon in Burlington
March 27 - Around the Bay (30 km) in Hamilton
April 2 - Prague International 1/2 Marathon - Prague, Czech Republic

And... with great trepidation and my heart full of fear:

May 29 - Ottawa International MARATHON!!!

I have been training for the 1/2's and Around the Bay since October but just started the Marathon training today. Tonight we had a 7.5 km run with a good group. The weather was nice at -1 with some light snow. All around great running conditions

Well, running again on Sunday - update you then.

Paul
