An 18 km jaunt around the spit!

Hey bloggerets

Our group completed either 16 or 18 km yesterday. The folks doing the longer distance are training for the Army 1/2 Marathon in Ottawa on September 18, the others the Toronto (or Cardiff!) on October 16. Each week now will have two distances for the Long Slow Distance (LSD) run. I am doing both Ottawa and Cardiff so my distance yesterday was 18 km.

The song of the run was Smile by Nat King Cole - not a fast paced song but good on the back half 9 when one is starting to get a bit tired.

Today I worked out with my trainer, which is something I do as I get nearer the race. My schedule will be pretty crazy until Cardiff - something like this:

  • Sunday: LSD Run

  • Monday: Cross training

  • Tuesday: Recovery run (not less than 8 km)

  • Wednesday: Speed or Temp Run

  • Thursday: 7 km run

  • Friday: Cross Training

  • Saturday: Rest Day (As godlike as I am going to get ;-) )

It is going to be a busy autumn.
